2024

ADOPTED JANUARY 2024 - Mr Bubbles is a very friendly green cheek conure who loves human attention and wants to hang outside of his cage as much as he can! He can be easily startled and does not like loud noises. He seems good with other (same sized) birds and is very inquisitive and enjoys making his magic soup (pellets + water) daily.

ADOPTED JANUARY 2024 - Gonzo was originally adopted from CTPR in 2017. He is about 7 years old. When his cage mate passed away due to old age, his previous family decided he needed to be in a home preferably with other birds.

Gonzo is both a curious and stubborn little guy! He is target training with his foster mom. However he is still a little skittish around hands even if you are holding a treat. With time, he will become more comfortable. He loves to call out to his foster siblings in the other room and happily chirps when he sees his favorite “celebirdies” on Instagram! He does like to look in the mirror behind his cage.

 2023

ADOPTED MARCH 2023 - Vip is a beautiful, funny, sometimes anxious male cockatiel who was found on a stoop in Brooklyn in 2020. He likes to whistle and sing, chirp in reply to people chatting with him, play with shredding and foraging toys, and relax on perches. He sleeps and sits quietly throughout the night, is lively during the morning/early afternoon, and mellow from mid/late-afternoon on.

ADOPTED MARCH 2023 - Ash is a very sweet bird (5 yrs) who really wants a special someone. He is not afraid of people and is very close to being hand tame. When his foster parents come into his area he gets excited and wants to interact. He is a beautiful singer and can chirp what sounds like "baby bird".

ADOPTED MARCH 2023 - Elsa is a lovely white and blue budgie with a sweet and gentle personality. While she was not hand-raised, with patience and enough time she is capable of trusting her new family. She enjoys singing along with other birds she hears outside or on a playlist, and doing morning stretches or "morning yoga" with you. Elsa is the perfect pet for someone who wants a more independent bird.

ADOPTED APRIL 2023 - Cory is a 3 year old male blue crowned conure coming from a loving home who unfortunately can no longer give him the attention he craves. He was hand reared, so he is gentle and loves spending time out of his cage and around people. He is shy at first, but quickly opens up. He is well behaved around small children and friendly with guests. He's a big fan of talking, giving kisses, and is very food motivated! He enjoys exchanging phrases with his human flock and mimicking sounds from around the house. He is recall trained and is always ready to do tricks for treats. Cory is a curious, intelligent, and friendly bird who will be eager to spend time with you!

ADOPTED MAY 2023 - Nelson is a delightful bird. He enjoys human contact and interaction, but has not been around a loud, chaotic household. (We are in our late 60’s and no kids reside in the house). He is sensitive to the emotional state of our dog and has no bad habits, e.g. screaming, biting.

ADOPTED JUNE 2023 - Meet Kiwi and Blueberry. They are both 4 yr old bonded male parakeets. Kiwi and Blueberry are very active and love to fly around. They are learning to step up but can be a bit shy. Kiwi and Blueberry come with their cage.

ADOPTED JUNE 2023 - Scoobie Doo, AKA Scoobie, is a 26-year-old male lesser sulphur crested cockatoo living on Cape Cod, MA who has been in one loving home his whole life. He thrives on lots of interaction with his human flock mates and has lived with many cats and a dog. He will need an incredible amount of socialization and enrichment time. Unfortunately for a good part of his life, he has spent most of his days in a cage and at times becomes territorial of it. Although very curious he has not been handled much at all and can become very vocal when he wants attention. The ideal adopter should be someone with experience with Cockatoos and who can be patient and dedicate time to train and socialize this intelligent parrot.

ADOPTED JUNE 2023 - Meet Luciel and Rachel, a bonded pair of budgies approximately 6 years old. They are stepping up relatively consistently when you say “up up” They come out of their cage to play with their foster siblings, and sometimes they have so much fun they have to be lured back to their cage.

Rachel is learning to maintain her beak with her cuttlebone, mineral perch and block. They love their kale 🥬 and Lu can be found jumping on his swing in his new cage. That seems to be his place if he is not visiting his budgie foster siblings. These two have no trouble making themselves at home and they are not timid around other birds.

ADOPTED JULY 2023 - Mia is a 10 year old Pineapple Green Cheek Conure whose owner sadly passed away. Despite not having had much human contact Mia is making great strides in her foster home. She mastered target training in a few short days and step up!

She also has a foster brother with whom she shares long conversation throughout the day, so a home with another feathered friend would be ideal. Mia would do best in a home without children as she is still learning to trust people.

ADOPTED JULY 2023 - These two boys love to compete and see who is the better singer! George (13) and Cinnamon (12) are a bonded pair and where one goes, the other follows. They would also be a great addition to any existing flock as they have also coexisted with other cockatiels. They were previously kept free flighted (not caged) but have adjusted well to cage life! They enjoy spending time flying outside of their cage and you can always find them sleeping on the same perch! They step up and are hand tamed as well!

ADOPTED JULY 2023 - LeBron is a five year old male cockatiel with a lot of spunk! He loves to sing and show off his tunes as well as swing around with his cockatiel pals! As he was originally part of a larger flock, he does very well with other cockatiels and shares his space, but he would be happiest with his own flock that are a bit more timid as he likes to hang out with the girls! He is a bit afraid of hands but with some patience and training could be hand tamed easily as he has the potential and will take treats out of your hand!

ADOPTED JULY 2023 - Birdie is tiny but mighty. A beautiful lemon/lime colored Parrotlet. She is very curious and social and therefore cannot be left in a room alone. She is relatively quiet all day happily observing you, but makes loud noises when she sees something you have that she wants to investigate (food or paper). She now loves to get scritches and hang outside of her cage with you! She plays with toys and enjoys items to shred and she is fine around other birds and dogs.

ADOPTED JULY 2023 - Cherokee is a female green wing macaw who was imported into the US in 1996. She bonds strongly with a single person, but likes everyone in the household. She can handle a busy household as long as the household can handle her! She likes to come out daily and will entertain you with her personality and gestures. She truely is a gentle giant, with a very sweet disposition! Because she bonds so closely with her main caretaker, she can get hormonal and will feed off their energy! Due to her size, her cage was upgraded and is very large so keep that in mind as a large space is needed to house her.

ADOPTED AUGUST 2023 - Harry and Larry are a pair of male parakeets who are best friends. They play together and groom each other prior to their early afternoon nap. They eat a healthy diet of zupreem pellets. We do not know how old they are. They were surrendered as part of a very large flock of parakeets. They are comfortable together but not yet hand tame.

ADOPTED AUGUST 2023 - Blue had a mate who had recently died and Green had been living outside since June. Together, they are getting along great! They are very nervous and we are working on getting them used to hands. The green parakeet is a bit friendlier and the blue parakeet has some plucking issues around her neck but she is on the way to recovery!

ADOPTED OCTOBER 2023 - Lima and Maya are two beautiful girls that get along very well and enjoy sharing a cage together. Lima (gray stripes) is more shy and Maya (black stripes) can be very active doing acrobatics. They have the most adorable conversations and while they are overall quiet, they will talk to you if they like what you are saying ;)  They love to take millet from your hand and perch on your fingers while they snack! They love hanging out with other parakeets and would make a great addition to any flock!

ADOPTED NOVEMBER 2023 - Stretch is a 38 year old male yellow nape amazon who loves being part of the family! He is almost exclusively outside of his cage and is potty trained. He is used to having a female and male caretaker, so he will bond with multiple people. He loves having meals with his family and is a well behaved bird who thrives with routine! He does need someone with bird experience to adopt him as he is still adjusting to a different routine.

ADOPTED NOVEMBER 2023 - Mina and Luci

ADOPTED NOVEMBER 2023 - Sammy is estimated to be in his 50s and is male. He likes to watch all the activity around him! He steps up and is a very sweet bird who is very gentle when taking treats from your hand! He does have a sissor-beak issue which will require routine beak trims and seems to prefer women. He has no issues with other birds or animals and loves to interact with people.

ADOPTED NOVEMBER 2023 - Urcha is a male African grey who is 19 years old. He is very friendly and loves to hang out with everyone outside of his cage, but is quite the potential flight risk as he is a very good flyer and when out of his cage will fly around to multiple people who are around or that he can hear. There have been a few close calls and because of this, he can’t go to a home with very young children as the risk of flying outside is greater.

ADOPTED DECEMBER 2023 - If you like cockatiels, you will love these three girls! They love to hang outside of their cage together and enjoy a good nap! Peanut is clicker trained and is already learning tricks! She loves to hang out with humans and get scritches while the other two like to hang around humans but are more hands off!

ADOPTED DECEMBER 2023 - Kiwi is an 11 year old green cheek conure. He loves getting head scratches, eating apples, and being around others! He can be a bit territorial of his cage, but he enjoys coming out to hang out. Kiwi loves to be where the action is happening - he is very social and curious! He tends to be quiet while the environment is relatively calm, and is very content just being in the same room as others.

 2022

ADOPTED JANUARY 2022 - Hi, my name is Goose! I’m a lovable sun conure whose favorite thing to do is be your sidekick. I love following you around either flying with you or hanging on your shoulder. I’m ready for any adventure as long as we are together! Watching TV with you is one of my favorite activities, especially if it involves you giving me some kisses, head scratches, and helping me with some pin feathers.

ADOPTED JANUARY 2022 - Zeke is a 26 year old Goffins Cockatoo whose original owner named her before they found out she was a female! She has lived a happy life the past few years, but is in search of a new loving home! She is fun and energetic, but could take some time to warm up to new people as she has had 3 owners. She loves playing with toys, cuddling, being held, and scritches! She is currently bonded to her male owner, and is skeptical of her female owner. She gravitates to bonding with one person as opposed to multiple people.

ADOPTED FEBRUARY 2022 - Buttons is almost 5 years old (2017) and looking to find some bird friends to spend his time with! He is very social with other birds and is not scared off by larger birds! He makes friends very easily, and is a very good whistler! He particularly loves to wolf whistle and show off his heart wings. He is not very interested in human interaction, but does enjoy a good sing-off with humans when he feels like it! He loves to come out of his cage and enjoy some freedom when flying.

ADOPTED FEBRUARY 2022 - Harley is a 30-year-old genetically tested male Harlequin Macaw. He forms close attachments with his favorite people and will show them much Macaw-style love and affection. He enjoys blueberries, bananas, and pistachios as a treat. Harley doesn’t fly, but he happily walks on the floor and climbs on his perches.

ADOPTED FEBRUARY 2022 - Charles is a 10+ year old Cape Parrot. Charles came from a loving home but was surrendered due to his behavior towards another bird resident in the home. Charles deserves as much out-of-cage time as possible! Charles is very sweet and loves head scratches. He loves being a part of the action. Charles seems to appreciate being with a female owner. He’s an adventurous eater and loves fruits, veggies & almonds in a shell. His new owner should be prepared with lots of wood toys!!!

ADOPTED MARCH 2022 - Sunny is a 16 year old sun conure who was well-loved in his previous home. He is a little shy around strangers at first, but will step up and be an absolute cuddle bug once he gets to know you. He enjoys gentle head and neck scritches and doesn’t scream very often except in the late afternoons/early evenings— during which times earplugs are recommended! He plays well with his toys and does not need constant attention 24/7, and while he does not need to be in a single-bird household, he doesn’t seem to enjoy sharing the attention of his “person.” He would be an ideal bird for a female primary caretaker, as he has not historically done well with kids or men.

ADOPTED MARCH 2022 - Kobe is a 12 year old Indian Ringneck. He has a large cage but loves being out, prefering to spend time on his perch on the kitchen island. He also enjoys spending time on your shoulder and loves to shower with people! Kobe is very hesitant when meeting someone for the first time, but once he is comfortable with you, he will let you pick him up and eventually sit on your shoulder. Kobe hasn’t had any issues with other birds or our 20lb cavapoo dog, but has not been exposed to many other animals throughout his life. Kobe was raised as a human and wants to eat anything we are eating.

ADOPTED APRIL 2022 - Moose is a 35 year old Mealy Amazon looking for a retirement home. He has severe mobility issues due to breaking his leg 10 years ago and it never healing right. Due to this, he is in a special cage that accommodates his needs, as he was prone to falling often in his larger one. He is on arthritis medicine 2x a day, and takes it like a champ because his foster mom adds it to homemade birdie bread and lets him eat it out of the palm of her hand! Moose is a gentle bird who enjoys head scratches, nuts, and butting into conversations.

ADOPTED APRIL 2022 - Sweety is around 6 or 7 years old and is a male green cheek conure. Sweety loves to hang outside of his cage and is obsessed with bathing! He likes to spend time with his humans and ride around on them. He loves to dance to music, is very interested in human toes, and is a big investigator!

ADOPTED MAY 2022 - Koko and Titi, 16 yr old male lutino cockatiels. They are very sweet and love to hang out together. While they might not be hand-tamed, they do love to fly around for exercise. They would make an excellent addition to any home!

ADOPTED MAY 2022 - Big Bird is a Jenday (age unknown), and Peanut is an 8 year old GCC. They have been in the same home for the last few years, and while they have been caged separately, they formed a strong bond that is thriving as they are currently sharing a cage together. They are normally not too loud, but Big Bird does get pretty loud when he is excited or wants something, so they would not do good in an apartment.

ADOPTED AUGUST 2022 - Jeremy is a friendly and cheerful Blue Front Amazon who loves music and loves to be out with her humans. She loves a head scratch or singing along with whatever music is on. She loves to destroy cardboard boxes and will also chew on her wood toys in her cage. Her personality is sunny and her nature is outgoing and social.

ADOPTED AUGUST 2022 - Bruno is a Hahn's Macaw. He is approximately 25 years old. He was hand raised, but unfortunately his owner passed away about a year ago. His owner's family has been caring for him every since. Since they are not bird people, they would like to see Bruno go to a home where he can just be a bird.

ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 2022 - Peach and Mario are two domestic white pigeons that were found abandoned in a boarding house. They enjoy the simpler things in life like looking out the window and being in each other’s company. They have not been sexed, but we believe they are a male/male pair due to how they interact together. They are handleable (one easily) and are very easy to care for. They love watching what goes on in their foster home.

ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 2022 - Angelo is a 14 year old lutino cockatiel who was purchased from a breeder by his previous owner. He became very attached to the owner’s mother who passed away. This has been a difficult transition for him. According to his previous owner, he is resistant to change and is fearful of new toys and cages. His foster mom is working on this with him. He loves cucumbers, carrots, and greens. Angelo can be a little standoffish and nervous at first but once he trusts you, he will sit on your shoulder for endless head scratches. Sometimes he is a little Velcro bird! When he flies off his cage he will step onto your finger but he ultimately wants to be on your shoulder!

ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 2022 - Tux is a 20-year-old (assumed male) cockatiel. He is on the quieter side and can be shy and needs time to warm up. He loves to sing and has even mimicked parts of whistled tunes.

Requires a home with other parrots, preferably one with another cockatiel.

ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 2022 - Chickie is a friendly, energetic dusky conure! She is so friendly that she was found outside and flew onto the shoulder of a kind Samaritan who took her in last year. Chickie is what I would call a "velcro bird" - meaning that she wants your attention all day! She is VERY friendly and gives kisses!

ADOPTED DECEMBER 2022 - Meet Spike (21) and Lia (9)! Spike and Lia are a sweet, bonded pair of cockatiels. These two happy birds love human attention but are not hand tamed. Spike and Lia will happily whistle and blow kisses throughout the day. They are a joy to have in the home and would love to join an active family home! They do also enjoy talking to other small birds.

Lia has some mobility issues but that doesn’t slow her down! Because of this, we are looking for an angel adopter for Spike and Lia.

ADOPTED DECEMBER 2022 - Rio is an 11 year old male bare eyed cockatoo. He is a nervous bird in nature but will warm up to you after time! He loves attention, dancing, and ripping up paper! He takes medicine on a nut daily, and is very gentle and sweet! He will only come out of his cage for people he is comfortable with. He could care less about other birds or other pets, and would do fine in a house with children or a busy house.

ADOPTED DECEMBER 2022 - Sweetie is a 24 year old (assumed female) Sun Conure. She is as sweet as her name. She is very shy at first but, once she warms up to you she can be a lot of fun.

She loves to be out of her cage and can benefit from a household where she can spend a lot of time out of her cage. She loves attention and does very well with children.

2021

She’s getting more comfortable everyday and loves head scratches from her person.

Buckbeak.jpg
